First Ascent Media is a visual storytelling studio that documents people, places, and moments as they unfold—clearly, thoughtfully, and with purpose.

Led by photographer Karen Peek, the studio works with businesses, teams, and organizations to create professional imagery for events, brand projects, and internal use. Karen brings a steady, organized presence to each shoot, moving efficiently while paying close attention to the small details that shape the bigger picture.

The work is rooted in preparation and communication. Time is spent understanding the environment, the flow of the day, and what matters most to the people involved, allowing the coverage to feel natural without being intrusive.

From company gatherings and workshops to brand-focused projects and team portraits, each assignment is approached with care and intention. The goal is always the same: deliver polished, commercial-ready imagery that feels true to the moment and useful long after it’s captured.
